Make Canada Your Experience
Live. Work. Play. The International Experience Canada (IEC) program, generally called the Working Holiday Program, allows nationals of certain countries to obtain one or two-year open work permits.
There are three different categories and criteria for each participating country. Generally, the IEC applicant must be between 18 and 35 (sometimes 18-30). Each country has its categories; some allow temporary foreign workers to enter Canada without a job offer from a Canadian employer, while others allow entry for co-op students, young professionals or individuals with a Canadian job offer.
The visa duration for the Working Holiday and Young Professionals categories allows you to stay in Canada for twenty-four months from the date you enter Canada. For the International Co-Op (Internship), you can stay in Canada for twelve months from when you enter Canada.
In general, you must meet health and work permit requirements and hold private health insurance for the duration of your trip. You are also usually required to have proof of funds to support yourself and hold a return ticket or enough funds to purchase one and provide police clearance certificates.
If you want to apply for a Working Holiday work permit for the 2024 pool, please email us, and we will contact you when the schedule is open.
