Visit | Study | Work in Canada
It is easy to understand why thousands of people choose Canada every year.
From its robust and stable economy and vibrant cosmopolitan cities to the breathtaking beauty of its natural environment, Canada offers newcomers opportunities and quality of life that are second to none.
Canada has a rich tradition of celebrating multiculturalism and all its diversity and welcoming people from all parts of the world.
Canada is a world leader in considering immigrants based on non-discriminatory values, which are essential to Canadians.
Visitors may require a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), sometimes called a Visitor’s Visa. Visitors from certain countries (such as the United States or Mexico) are visa exempt.
In short, when you visit Canada, everyone benefits. Family, friends, students, workers, the business person and equally as important - when you visit, it benefits Canada’s economy.
All foreign nationals who want to come to Canada need permission from Canadian immigration officials and must apply for and attain a visa before appearing at a port of entry.
Everyone must meet the bare minimum requirements to study, work, visit, or live permanently in Canada.
There is an elevated risk of refusal in cases where the application is not adequately prepared. You may wish to consult with our office to determine if you meet the minimum requirements and perhaps for your peace of mind.
Single-Entry Visa (SEV)
A single-entry visa allows you to enter Canada once. When you arrive at the point of entry in Canada, an Canada Border Services Agency officer will ensure you meet the requirements to enter Canada.
The officer will tell you how long you can stay in Canada. Six months is the most extended period you can stay in Canada under a single-entry Temporary Resident Visa (TRV).
Your passport will be stamped on the expiry date—the date you must leave Canada. The exact expiry date will be stamped on the license if you have a study or work permit.
If you leave Canada before the expiry date on your single-entry visa, you must get a new visa to re-enter Canada.
There are two exceptions:
You can visit the United States or Saint-Pierre et Miquelon and return to Canada without getting a new visa if you return within the initial period authorized by the immigration officer.
Or, have a valid visitor record, work permit, study permit, or temporary resident permit (authorizing re-entry) and return within the initial period the officer allows.
We can help you by advising you what information the visa officer reviewing your application should know and check before processing your application.
If you have questions regarding an application, we are open to consultations and immigration assessments.
Multiple-Entry Visa (MEV)
A multiple-entry visa allows you to enter Canada several times while your visa is valid.
A multiple-entry visa is usually valid for a more extended period than a single-entry visa and gives you flexibility, whether for business or travel.
When you make the application, indicate that you are seeking a decision on a multiple-entry visa, not a single-entry visa.
Your multiple-entry visa will state the number of times you can enter Canada.
You must arrive in Canada on or before the expiry date of your visa. You cannot get a multiple-entry visa for a period that ends after the expiry date of your passport.
If your passport expires soon, you should renew it before applying for your visa because you can only enter Canada if your visa or passport is valid.
If you want to visit several other countries or return to your own country before returning to Canada, you will need a multiple-entry visa.
A multiple-entry visa is recommended if you plan to visit Canada frequently.
You may wish to consult with our office to make such an application.
Complete our assessment questionnaire. Within 48 hours, we will assess your options, if any, and will contact you with your assessment results.
Parent & Grandparent Super Visas allow eligible parents and grandparents to apply and enjoy visiting their family in Canada for up to two years without the need to renew their status.
The IRCC, under this program, may issue a multiple-entry visa valid for up to 10 years to eligible applicants to facilitate their back-and-forth travel between their home country and Canada.
Visa officers consider several factors before deciding if a person is admissible. The person must be a genuine visitor to Canada who will leave by choice at the end of the visit. It is important to note that the super visa is still a provisional application.
Suppose you want your parent or grandparent to stay in Canada permanently. In that case, you will need to submit an application for permanent residence for them, which is different from the Super Visa.
